1834 - President Andrew Jackson orders the first use of federal soldiers to surpress labor dispute.

1936 - First Inductees into Baseball Hall of Fame announced

1963 - First Inductees into Pro Football Hall of Fame announced

2002 - In his State of the Union address, President George W. Bush describes "regimes that sponsor terror" as Axis of Evil and names Iran, Iraq, and North Korea.
