Elliot heading back to Richmond..

It looks like Elliot is heading back to Richmond after being voted out of American Idol. He was a nice guy, a local guy from the Capital city, and i thought he was the best singer. It was also good to see Mayor Douglas Wilder. Mayor Wilder was the first black Governor of VA and has been regarded by many people as our best former governor. He is a fine man who really cares about VA, Richmond in particular. He is the first candidate in VA, who as an at-large candidate, won every precinct in his area, and in his case, it was the entire city of Richmond. That was impressive. I envision good things for Elliot. I am sure someone will sign him. I also think this is the most talented final AI has ever had.

The Hippies beat the Frat Boys on The Amazing Race finale this evening.

The Senate today has made some important votes on amendments to the Immigration Reform legislation right now. They have a hard job and today's votes show just how tough it will be to pass any reform legislation. Today they passed legislation building a fence along a certain portion of the border and placed classifications on who qualifies for a "guest worker" program. It will be interesting to see how those amendments shape the rest of the bill and the debates.
