1184 B.C. - The Greeks enter Troy using the Trojan Horse.

1880 - U.S. Library of Congress established when President John Adams signs legislation to appropriate $5,000 to purchase "such books as may be necessary for the use of Congress."

1913 - Skyscraper Woolworth Building in NYC is opened.

1953 - Winston Churchill is knighted by Queen Elizabeth II

1979 - Georgia On My Mind adopted as the official state song of the State of Georgia.

1990 - Hubble Space Telescope launched into outer space by space shuttle Discovery.
